On a podcast I heard recently, the phrase ‘#pitchdontbitch’ was apparently taped to the wall of a writers’ room. It’s a sentiment I have to agree with… just offer another idea or thought, create an opportunity for development and forward flow. As I ponder this, I wonder about a similar phrase we might create regarding ghosting or a general lack of follow-up. Not that I have struggled with that this past week, but I know it is a common thing to bitch about in the present day and age, albeit for a good purpose. I’ll think about that. If anyone reads this, perhaps you can offer a suggestion. ‘Follow up, don’t Wallow up?’
Moving on… Last Friday was the day for the pitch in front of a live audience. The organization is #ignite, the event is #sparksweekend. An inspiring collection of entrepreneurial supporters for entrepreneurs. I did OK, placing 6th among 40 participants. I did not advance, but to be fair, I am very advanced in my invention, really, a few folks told me so, but whatever the reason, I was very content to get some exposure and practice the process of getting my voice and ideas out in the world. Besides, my main focus is to seek out angel investors, plain and simple.
Following up… Now it’s about follow-up and creating next opportunities, currently I do await 2 folks who promised a follow-up on market report analysis and feature film development, which then leads me to a slight place of procrastination and bitching about not having that follow-up. Limbo is a terrible place for a vacation. But, and if I may, I should be pitching, not bitching, hatching my next game plan, and getting the info I need. By the way, while writing this, one person I had been waiting for did follow through; they were not one of the 2 but the conversation and potential info will be greatly appreciated. Now I am really starting to wonder about this whole energy in the universe thing… Well of to the pitch-fest in my head…
