Jimmy Matlosz is an accomplished Director-Cinematographer-Screenwriter who was raised in a small farming community in New Jersey by his blue-collar parents, learning about life through hard work and playing in the woods. Jimmy applied the fundamentals of filmmaking during his studies in college.  He migrated to LA, where he worked with and learned from the best in the business. Starting in VFX and quickly ascending the ranks to Cinematographer, Director, and Camera Operator for Commercials, Features, Tv and Docs. His ambitions led him to journalism for a variety of film magazines, which bolstered his commitment to screenwriting, earning accolades and awards along the way. Jimmy’s grounded upbringing and life experiences lend shape to his real characters. He credits his career choices to his imagination and freedom to dream. Jimmy spends time in LA when necessary, but more often spends his time romping around the Pacific Northwest. A published writer and journalist, former Chairman of the ICG Emerging Cinematographers Awards 2007 – 2024, consultant, mentor, teacher, and father.
